A costumed group specialising in music from England's 'Golden Age' of music
COME AND JOIN US IN OUR MARQUEE FOR A FESTIVAL OF FOOD AND MUSIC WITH MUSICA IN MASCHERA -Meaning music in masks or music in costume. The group were formed in 1994 for a tudor banquet by five of the exhisting members. From amongst the singers is drawn a recorder quintet with percussion (mediaval Longcase drum and tambourine), and players upon the keyboards, cornamuse, psaltery and other instruments.
Musica in Maschera's entertainment includes songs, instrumentals, verse and humorous interlude songs to suit the occasion.
Musica in Maschera continues to scour the archives for lesser-known but equally worthy composers from the period from both Britain and abroad.
